Ranches
|
Montana Quarter Horse Association is proud that today there are still ranches in Montana that use horses in their day to day work. So often the breed of choice on these ranches is the American Quarter Horse.
The American Quarter Horse Association recently formed the new AQHA Ranching Council....... Highlighting the efforts of American Quarter Horse ranch breeders and their heritage to AQHA is the reasoning behind the new Ranching Council and its three initiatives to recognize ranch breeders. Those being: (1) a referral program called the AQHA Ranching Heritage Breeders, (2) competitions called the Ranching Heritage Challenge and (3) youth and young horse development, called the AQHA Ranching Heritage Young Horse Development Program. Stan Weaver of Big Sandy, Montana is the first chairman of the AQHA Ranching Council.
