Nancy Winifred Dear

Nancy DearNancy Winifred Dear, 93, died of natural causes Sunday, March 17, at Peace Hospice in Great Falls.

Her devotion was to her family (including deceased husbands, Doug Dear and Tuck Barrett) and her church.

She was a key founding member of the MQHA and Cascade County Farm Bureau, inducted into the AQHA and Cowgirl Halls of Fame, member of ZONTA International, Angus associations, Montana Stock Growers Association and an outstanding 4-H leader. Nancy attended White Sulphur Springs High School, Kinman Business College and Montana State College, where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi. Nancy has registered a quarter horse foal for the past 64 consecutive years. Proud of her stallions and mares, Nancy found the most joy in watching people discover the magic of riding a horse.
